MOBILE PAY FAQ

What is a mobile wallet?

A mobile wallet lets you add your card info to your mobile devices to use in stores, online or in apps without the physical card.

Which mobile wallets can I use with my Citizens Bank Visa® Debit Cards?

You can now add your Citizens cards to these mobile wallets: Apple Pay®, Samsung Pay™ and Google Pay™.

Are mobile payments secure?

Mobile payments give you peace of mind you can’t put a price on. Not only are payments quicker, they are secure. For security, these services replace your actual debit card number with a uniquely generated card number – that’s an added layer of protection. Also, your information no longer needs to be handed over or stored by the merchant to complete a transaction. Your mobile wallet can’t be used for a payment without your authentication. So your information is protected, even if your phone is lost or stolen.

Where can I use it?

Once you have your card loaded in your mobile wallet there are many ways you can use it. You can use your wallet to pay wherever you see the contactless payment symbol by holding your phone up to the symbol on the terminal. When shopping online, some sites let you select a mobile wallet as your payment option at checkout instead of having to enter your card information each time you make a purchase.

Which Citizens Bank cards qualify?

You can add your Citizens Bank Personal, School Stash or Business Elite Visa® Debit Cards to your mobile wallet.

Are mobile wallets easy to use?

You can set up Mobile Pay in minutes. It’s simple to set up—and convenient to use. As soon as you connect your card, you’re set.

Can I store other cards in my mobile wallet?

Yes, since they are a digitized version of physical wallets, almost every valuable card stored in a physical wallet can also be stored in a digital wallet, such as a driver’s license, Social Security card, health insurance cards, your vaccine card, loyalty cards, and even hotel key cards.

How do I get started?

Follow the easy step by step instructions above and get all the advantages of Apple, Samsung and Google Pay!
