THE CITIZENS BANK ANNOUNCES INDUSTRY VETERAN AS NEW PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
February 7, 2023 4:23 pmWe are excited to welcome Stacy M. Brantley as our new President and CEO beginning February 13, 2023. We will greatly miss our current President and CEO Greg McKee, who joined the bank over 40 years ago, and retired on January 31, 2023. Greg will remain as President and CEO of Citizens Holding Company. During his tenure, he grew the bank into one of the largest and most well-known community banks in the state of Mississippi. He also helped shape community banking serving as chairman of the Mississippi Bankers Association for 2019-2020.
“We conducted a national search for our next CEO, and Stacy quickly rose to the top of a very competitive candidate slate,” said Hub King, board chairman at The Citizens Bank. “We are thrilled to have Stacy lead our organization through its next chapter of growth and maturity, and I look forward to working with him.”

Mr. Brantley brings over 25 years of diverse banking and executive leadership experience. Prior to joining The Citizens Bank, Brantley served as Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer for Morris Bank of Georgia where he oversaw all lending and branch sales.

Under McKee’s leadership since 2002, The Citizens Bank has grown into a great bank. Now he will lead Mississippi to becoming a great state for banking.
“We can’t think of any better leader for the MBA than our CEO Greg McKee,” said Jackie Hester, Vice President and Marketing Officer. “We are proud of his accomplishments as a leader in banking in Mississippi and look forward to follow his success in his role as Chairman of our statewide banking association.”
The Mississippi Bankers Association, established in 1889, is a private membership organization which brings together and represents banks and savings institutions in the State of Mississippi. The MBA provides education through seminars and conferences, information through various avenues such as The Mississippi Banker magazine, and representation in legislative and regulatory matters.
The Association also sponsors and/or endorses products and services for banks. The Association benefits from the strong leadership provided by Mississippi bankers serving as officers and executive committee members. The MBA has many bank employees serving on standing committees, providing a feeling of community for bankers across the state. The MBA has a long tradition of educating and involving bankers to improve their professional lives and their relationships with customers.
